Ongoing Project: Hexing Colour Palettes


Feel free to refer to these combinations for whatever you like; hexing, external textures, even site or avatar colours! I've never seen any 256 colour palettes floating around, so I thought it might be helpful if I posted mine here.

Due to my background in art, I make a colour palette when I'm starting a hex (or a painting); it makes it easier for me to move forward with my work. It also helps overcome that limited feeling you get when you stare at that Petz colour chart and think 'Oh geez, there's nothing here to use!'. Hopefully, they'll spark your imagination for whatever you're working on. And don't be afraid to cover over one (or more) of the squares in a palette to see what the remaining colours look like, or even mash two palettes together.

This is definitely not an exhaustive list of colour combinations, though it was quite exhausting to make! Hence, if you use these palettes for your work/find them useful, I'd really appreciate a mention :)

Palettes are categorised first by the number of colours in each palette, then by the number of texture-enabled colours within the palette. Remember that colours from 10 to 149 can have textures applied to them, while anything else will remain textureless. And FYI, I named them just so you could easily identify them later if you find you like/don't like them :)
